For those who don't know, Pillowfort is an ad-free, user-funded social media site that's a bit of a LiveJournal/Tumblr fusion. It has unlimited* image hosting, thorough blocking features and a nice UI.
They increased the monthly fundraising goal to $7000 in October to incorporate a new programmer, and a few users had been worried we wouldn't be able to make the target. We jumped from 88% to 100% from the 30th to the 31st! It's pretty awesome.
We got a small influx of over a hundred ex-Cohost users due to the shutdown, it would have been a bummer if we entered funding issues so soon after those folks lost their site. Staff has also been seizing the increased funding if we judge by all the improvements and bugfixes they managed to release. Pretty cool!
I don't like Dreamwidth so far mostly for UI/UX reasons, but I thought I'd give it a shot and turn it into a window into PF culture.
